No legitimate news outlet has pursued this news, and no comments have been made by the National Football League or Kansas City Chiefs regarding this ridiculous news.
This false rumor may have started on Twitter, but it soon spread to Facebook and other social media platforms.
The rumor creator went as far as alleging that the National Football League is launching an investigation into the Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
His claim seems as far-fetched as his profile. There is no evidence of the National Football League investigating players, including Chiefs quarterback Mahomes, for suspected performance-enhancing drug use, which is prohibited.
NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy said the claim was “absolutely false.” Under the NFL and the NFL Players Association’s performance-enhancing substances policy, five players from each team are randomly chosen to be drug tested.
Patrick Mahomes was not one of the Chiefs players selected for the test.
